James McArthur-Appleby

Psychotherapist/Counsellor

Therapy should provide you with solutions to problems that you cannot seem to resolve yourself without turning to problematic experimental solutions. I became a therapist to help people find appropriate solutions to their issues instead of pursuing problematic experimental solutions, like I did at one point because I thought I had to figure it out by myself. My role is to provide you with a safe space to share your story and to help you find solutions that can resolve your issues or help you manage your issues more effectively in order to reduce the impacts.

Outside of my private therapy practice I volunteer on Tuesday mornings at the Listening Space at Mullumbimby & District Neighbourhood centre. When I am not doing therapy I like to go swimming, spend time with my family, listen to 90s and 00s EDM and alternative rock, and dabble in wargaming. I believe a well-rounded life that includes a purpose, physical exercise, investing in good relationships and relaxation and recreation leads to human flourishing.
